Dr. Diao Yanbin is a well reputed linguist in the academic world. Born in 1959, he holds a Ph.D in Chinese language from Nankai University, and did his post doctoral work in Shandong University. He is professor, doctoral supervisor, and post doctoral supervisor He is also the chef of Institute of Chinese language studies, also a chef expert of National Social Science Fund, the chef editor for international bilingual academic journal Global Chinese. During his academic career, he has been devoting himself to History of modern Chinese language, an academic term raised by him for the first time across the world. In recent years, he has been focusing on differences and fusion of Chinese language between mainland, Hongkong, Macao, Taiwan and worldwide. He has published independently 20 books and more than 200 academic papers.
